Dr. William J. Roberts, PsyD, LMFT
Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
Meet Dr. William J. Roberts
I help individuals and couples change their relationship with alcohol, drugs, and each other—without years of therapy. Whether your goal is moderation, harm reduction, or sobriety, we’ll build a treatment plan that fits your values and helps you make meaningful progress.
For more than 15 years, I’ve worked across nearly every level of substance use and mental health treatment, including detoxification, residential treatment, outpatient care, medication-assisted treatment, private practice, and clinical leadership. I earned my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Marriage and Family Therapy from The Chicago School, where my doctoral research focused on clinician competency in harm reduction treatment.
My approach is direct, practical, and focused on results. I use Solution-Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to help you identify what needs to change and start making progress quickly. Many clients begin to see meaningful improvement within weeks and complete therapy in 3–6 months.
I work with individuals navigating substance use, whether your goal is harm reduction, moderation, or sobriety. I also help couples rebuild trust, improve communication, and move forward after conflict or substance use issues.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting.
You just need a place to begin—and a plan that works.
